Augmented reality is quite different from Virtual Reality.
AR is basically an additional layer of information that applied through a portable device that points a location.
The first mass public AR that has been ever displayed was the Pokemon game which became a super hit in a few weeks.
You certainly remember that even a fan in Australia quit his job in order to be able to “collect” all Pokemons around the world.
Touristic areas also use it. Indeed, it allows to find information about building or show the original look of the attraction. That has been specifically developed in Roman ruin sites. This allows to see the original version of the Coliseum as an example.
Few VR attractions also offer AR component. To our knowledge neither Dreamscape, The Void nor Two bit Circus do offer this experience.
